Hon Mirin 13.6% 600ML

Hon mirin (本みりん) is the traditional grade of Japanese sweet rice wine, brewed from glutinous rice and rice koji with brewing alcohol and slowly saccharified. It contains 13.5–14.5% alcohol and no added salt, which is what separates it from the salted “mirin type” seasonings sold alongside it.

Use it in teriyaki, simmered dishes, glazes and marinades. Added early in cooking the alcohol boils off, leaving a clean sweetness and the glossy sheen (照り) that gives teriyaki its name.
