Makgeolli (막걸리) is a traditional Korean rice wine, known for its milky appearance and gentle effervescence. This original version from Kooksoondang offers a subtly sweet and tangy flavour profile with a smooth, creamy texture, created through a careful fermentation process of rice and a starter culture called nuruk. It is a popular social drink in Korea, often enjoyed chilled in special bowls alongside savoury pancakes like pajeon or bindaetteok.
