Doenjang (된μž₯) is a traditional Korean fermented soybean paste, essential for authentic Korean cooking. This Sunchang Doenjang from ChungJungOne is made with 100% Korean-grown soybeans and is prized for its deep, savoury, and umami-rich flavour profile with a distinctive earthy aroma. It serves as a fundamental base for many classic Korean soups and stews, such as the hearty Doenjang Jjigae (soybean paste stew). For a simple preparation, dissolve a spoonful in boiling water with tofu, vegetables, and a touch of gochujang for a comforting and quick meal. This paste is also a key ingredient in ssamjang, the popular dipping sauce for Korean BBQ.
