Morita Mirin Type Sweet Cooking Wine 8.5% ABV 500ml

Morita Organic Mirin Type is a Japanese sweet cooking seasoning, brewed from organic rice and organic rice koji using sake-brewing methods and certified organic (JAS). Salt is added during brewing, which makes it a mirin type (みりんタイプ) rather than hon mirin — and is why it is sold as a seasoning rather than a liquor in Japan. Alcohol content is 8–9%.

Use it wherever a recipe calls for mirin: teriyaki, simmered dishes, marinades and dressings. It lends gloss and a rounded sweetness that balances soy sauce. Because it already contains salt, season the dish afterwards.
