Panko (빵가루) is a type of flaky breadcrumb used in Korean and Japanese cuisine, known for its light and airy texture. Unlike traditional breadcrumbs, Otogi's Korean panko is made from crustless bread, which results in a crispier, less oily coating when fried. These larger, irregular flakes absorb less grease, making them ideal for creating a crunchy exterior on dishes like tonkatsu (pork cutlets), chicken katsu, or crispy shrimp. They are also excellent as a topping for baked casseroles or macaroni and cheese to add a satisfying crunch.
